Dave Robson and his group of Williams engineers inquired as to whether they could take the paint from the vehicle completely to save weight, however unfortunately they were denied.
The heaviness of the F1 vehicles is ending up a major issue this season.
While the base weight was expanded under the new specialized guidelines, Alfa Romeo was the main group ready to arrive at it. The other nine, it has been accounted for, are overweight and some as much as twofold figures.
While Williams have not uncovered their 2022 weight gains, the group is giving its very best for lose a piece regardless of whether it is only a couple of grams.
That has been finished to a limited extent by taking paint from the nose, engine cover and sidepods.
Robson, the group's head of vehicle execution, even went as to far as to enquire concerning whether the vehicle could be stripped back to its carbon fiber completely.
Unfortunately however it wasn't possible as Williams need marking on their vehicle, both their own and their backers.
"Simply what designing meets showcasing, isn't it?" he said. "We as a whole believe that the vehicle should look dazzling, which is important for the game.
"Furthermore, it's not just about the attire on the vehicle; it establishes the vibe for the entire brand which is obviously truly significant.
"Without a doubt it's a split the difference. The vehicle needs to have some noticeable character about it. And yet, it's to the supporters' advantage to make it as fast as could be expected."
A few groups showed up at the Imola circuit for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix with carbon fiber appearing, including any semblance of Mercedes and McLaren.
The groups are attempting essentially all that to bring down the heaviness of the vehicles despite the fact that the FIA consented to expand the base from 795kg to 798kg after the first pre-season test.
Also, given the game's financial plan cap, it is making it hard for groups to toss cash at the issue.
"I think we've known for a surprisingly long time that accomplishing the base weight limit would have been extraordinarily extreme," said Robson.
"Furthermore, with the additional intricacy of the expense cap, especially for the greater groups, then how would you accomplish it?
"Somewhat it's a marginally erratic number since, in such a case that the FIA set as far as possible at 500kg you'd always be unable to accomplish it, so it depends what we as a game view the reason for that number to be.
"Assuming it's by far most of groups, or everything except one, where we're at now, then, at that point, you would agree for the game you're in an ideal situation expanding that number.
"Yet, I can totally figure out that, on the off chance that there is one group out there that doesn't require it expanding, then, at that point, obviously they wouldn't consent to that."
