Fernando Alonso is Gerhard Berger's top target for bringing him into the DTM and he is given a verbal agreement to join him in the future.
The two- time Formula 1 world champion has seen numerous other classes and events outside of Formula 1, including Le Mans, the World Abidance Championship, the Indianapolis 500 and the Dakar Rally.
Still, Alonso has noway appeared in DTM before, but series master Berger is determined to change that.
Alonso is presently in his alternate season at Alpine since his return to Formula 1, and although his contract expires at the end of the current season, he's anticipated to subscribe an extension.
According to Berger, Alonso said he'll at some point come to the relegation tracking matrix.
"He has to do a many further effects first, but he'll join us at some point," Berger told F1- Bigwig.
Alonso isn't the only motorist to point in Formula 1 racing in 2022 that Berger would like to bring to the DTM.
Nico Hulkenberg made two provisory tails for Sebastian Vettel at Aston Martin at the launch of the 2022 season, a performance that impressed Berger, considering that Hulkenberg hadn't been laboriously contending another series before that.
"Hulkenberg is at the top of my want list," Berger verified.
"After all, he replaced Sebastian Vettel in Formula 1 in the stylish possible way, virtually from the lounge."
For Vettel, Berger is interested in working alongside the four- time Formula 1 world champion, but not inescapably on the driving side rather, he thinks' smart' Vettel would be a great' mate' to bring on board.
"I'd love to have Sebastian as a mate," Berger said.
"He is a smart joe who I suppose will need assignments in the unborn other than racing."
Berger, who attended the Emilia- Romagna Grand Prix in Imola, has revealed the names of some of the former Formula 1 motorists who have shown interest in DTM.
"Jacques Villeneuve, 1997 Formula 1 World Champion He'd also like to start at the DTM," Berger revealed.
