The supreme World Champion was pipped by partner Sergio Perez in the second practice meeting, with the Dutch driver completing in a fairly stifled fourth spot and close to a portion of a subsequent down on Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.

Horner uncovered the majority of Verstappen's despondency originates from only one specific corner on the Monte Carlo circuit.

"It's simply Turn 1 right now," the Red Bull group manager clarified for Sky Sports F1.

"That is the main piece we want to clean up for him. We've attempted a few set-up changes where he's not as content with the vehicle as he was in the last meeting.

"I'm certain we can do that, yet Checo [Perez] has had an excellent meeting and found his certainty rapidly.

"I believe it's a corner he hasn't been absolutely content with balance-wise both toward the beginning of today and this meeting. However, ideally we have a lot of information now and I'm certain we can clean that up for later."

With Ferrari winding up 33% of a second clear of either Red Bull in the second practice meeting, Horner conceded the speed of the red vehicles had gotten his attention.

"In this meeting, they have been showing a ton of speed," he remarked.

"We don't have the foggiest idea what energy and motor modes they are running clearly, however they are looking shocking.

"I think there are two or three regions with the vehicle we can clean up. Yet, how about we check whether we can go anyplace close to that time tomorrow."

Nico Rosberg, the 2016 F1 World Champion, said something regarding Horner's remarks, saying Ste. Commit is an especially basic corner at the Monaco track.

"That is a great marker for how agreeable one is with his vehicle in Monaco," he said.

"It's that slowing down there, and we saw him slowing down somewhat prior even than his partner, so he's not exactly focused at this point."
